Broadcom's market capitalisation has surged past one point seven six trillion dollars after TSMC reported record first-quarter revenue of thirty-five point six billion dollars, driven by insatiable demand for AI chips. The rally was further boosted by Broadcom's long-term deals with Google and Anthropic extending through twenty thirty-one.

Broadcom Rides TSMC Wave to New Heights

Broadcom has cemented its position as one of the world's most valuable companies, with its market capitalisation climbing to roughly one point seven six trillion dollars following a surge in share price driven by blockbuster results from its key manufacturing partner, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.

TSMC disclosed first-quarter twenty twenty-six revenue of one point one three trillion New Taiwan dollars, approximately thirty-five point six billion US dollars, representing a thirty-five percent increase from the same period last year. March alone produced the highest single month of sales in the foundry's history, with a forty-five percent year-on-year jump. The results validated strong demand from TSMC's roster of AI customers, including Broadcom, whose custom accelerators are fabricated at TSMC's most advanced manufacturing nodes.

Major Deals Lock In Long-Term Demand

The TSMC tailwind arrived on the heels of two landmark agreements for Broadcom. The company disclosed a long-term deal with Google to develop and supply custom Tensor Processing Units and networking components through twenty thirty-one, covering multiple generations of chips using cutting-edge two-nanometre and three-nanometre process technologies.

In a separate expansion, Broadcom, Google, and Anthropic broadened their collaboration to provide Anthropic with approximately three point five gigawatts of next-generation TPU-based compute capacity beginning in twenty twenty-seven. Anthropic, whose annualised revenue has surpassed thirty billion dollars, said the expansion will power its frontier Claude models.

Momentum Building Across the Sector

Broadcom reported first-quarter fiscal twenty twenty-six revenue of nineteen point three billion dollars, up twenty-nine percent year-on-year, with AI semiconductor revenue reaching eight point four billion dollars, a one hundred and six percent annual increase. The company's AI order backlog stands at seventy-three billion dollars for delivery over the next eighteen months.

Bank of America recently raised its twenty twenty-six global semiconductor forecast to one point three trillion dollars, a three hundred billion dollar jump from just four months prior, reflecting how rapidly AI demand is outpacing even the most bullish projections.
