Chinese Startup Lisuan Unveils 6nm Gaming GPU to Challenge Nvidia and AMD

China Takes Aim at the GPU Duopoly

Chinese startup Lisuan Technology has formally unveiled its G100 series graphics cards at the AWE 2026 consumer electronics expo in Shanghai, marking what could be the most significant challenge yet to the longstanding GPU duopoly held by Nvidia and AMD.

The centrepiece of the announcement is the Lisuan Extreme LX 7G106, a consumer gaming card built on TSMC's 6nm process node. It packs 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus, delivers up to 24 teraflops of compute power, and draws a maximum of 225 watts through a single 8-pin connector. The company claims it can run popular titles including Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth: Wukong, and the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

A Chip Built From the Ground Up

What distinguishes Lisuan from other Chinese GPU makers is its fully self-developed TrueGPU Tiantu architecture, constructed from the instruction set upwards. Industry analysts note that even established domestic chipmakers have not achieved this level of independence. The card also supports Windows on ARM, a feature not yet broadly offered by Western GPU vendors.

Professional Cards and AI Ambitions

Alongside the gaming card, Lisuan showcased three professional workstation variants carrying up to 24GB of ECC memory. The company has also highlighted the chip's capabilities in large language model inference, supporting models like Qwen3 and DeepSeek.

Questions Remain

Synthetic benchmarks paint a mixed picture. While 3DMark Fire Strike scores place the G100 near Nvidia's RTX 4060, Geekbench entries suggest real-world performance closer to much older hardware. Pre-orders open on the 17th of March with retail availability set for the 18th of June through JD.com. Pricing has not been disclosed, and independent reviews are yet to surface.
