Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang capped off a four-day visit to Taiwan with an extraordinary dinner that brought together the island's most influential technology leaders. Held at a traditional Taiwanese restaurant in Taipei's Songshan District, the event earned the nickname "trillion-dollar banquet" from local media, reflecting the combined market value of the attending companies.

Production Push Amid Supply Concerns

Speaking at an impromptu press conference in the rain outside the restaurant, Huang made clear that twenty twenty-six would be a pivotal year for Nvidia. He urged TSMC to work hard this year, joking that he needs a lot of wafers, while predicting the foundry would more than double its capacity over the next decade.

Huang also sounded the alarm on memory chip availability, warning that supply chain constraints could pose significant challenges. The Nvidia chief confirmed that the Grace Blackwell architecture has entered full mass production, while the next-generation Vera Rubin platform is beginning production with availability expected in the second half of this year.

A Legendary Reunion

Earlier in the week, ninety-four-year-old TSMC founder Morris Chang made his first public appearance in over a year, joining Huang for a private dinner at a Cantonese restaurant in Taipei. The meeting highlighted the deep personal bond between the two tech pioneers, who shared whiskey and cigars during the reunion.

Throughout his visit, Huang was greeted by adoring fans wherever he went, reflecting his celebrity status in Taiwan where local media refer to him as "the people's dad". He praised Taiwan's manufacturing ecosystem, declaring that the island possesses a kind of magic that cannot be replicated and that Nvidia would not be possible without Taiwan.
